Flash flood warnings for parts of Texas
A flash flood warning is in effect this morning for seven counties in southeastern Texas as what's left of Tropical Storm Bill makes its way inland. Forecasters say the storm is still a major rain maker, with several inches possible to saturated areas still trying to recover from a Memorial Day downpour that killed 14 people along the Blanco River in Texas. Parts of Arkansas and Oklahoma could also see several inches of rain.

Deadline for state spending plan looms
Lawmakers continue to hash out details of the next two-year state spending plan as a Thursday deadline approaches. A nine-member negotiating team is working out differences between the Senate's $11.3 billion and House's $11.2 billion spending plans. Once the team works out a plan, it will need approval from both the House and Senate. The budget will then go to Governor Maggie Hassan's desk.

Testimony set for today in custody dispute case
The pending testimony of a 19-year-old woman who was taken out of the United States more than a decade ago in a custody dispute is expected to be the focal point of a hearing today in Lancaster. Genevieve and Scott Kelley and her then-8-year-old daughter fled in 2004. They said they were protecting the child from her biological father and Genevieve's ex-husband, saying he abused her. The father was never charged.
