Officer death to be ruled a suicide
What began as a manhunt for whoever allegedly shot and killed a northern Illinois police officer is expected to be brought to a far different conclusion today. An official briefed on the investigation says authorities will announce that Lieutenant Charles Joseph Gliniewicz killed himself. The Lake County Sheriff's Office has called a news conference to announce "conclusive results."
Police: Man, his pregnant wife injured in rollover crash
Police say a man and his pregnant wife were seriously injured in a rollover crash in Manchester. It happened just before 11 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Beech and Silver streets. Police say Greg Beaulieu of Manchester collided with a car driven by Dennis Beaudoin as he was changing lanes. Beaudoin and his wife, Brittany Beaudoin, were both taken to Elliot Hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. Authorities say Brittany Beaudoin was seven months pregnant and gave birth via Caesarean section.The crash is under investigation. Police haven't said if charges will be filed.
Man found with gun, ammunition, drugs, enters guilty plea
A Manchester man found with a handgun, ammunition and drugs has entered a guilty plea in federal court. Prosecutors say 22-year-old Nathan Tremblay was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by Concord police in August 2014. Police found him with the handgun. He consented to a search of his backpack, which turned up three small baggies of marijuana. Tremblay faces sentencing Feb. 10, 2016.
