This morning, we said our goodbyes to Rich Kirkland, our long time traffic reporter and more importantly, long time friend. After 35 years in the business, Rich is retiring and he and his wife and packing their bags and heading west.

Sit-in continues into morning
The House session is over, but Democrats were still on Capitol Hill this morning, protesting the failure of lawmakers to pass gun control legislation. Their sit-in began around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, and Democratic lawmakers were still addressing their colleagues after 6 a.m., saying, they'll continue to make their case for gun legislation. House Majority Leader Paul Ryan called the sit-in a gimmick. Democratic Congressman John Lewis says, "it's not a gimmick for me."
