More flooding, evacuations in TX
Officials in Harris County, Texas are advising people to stay home because of flooding conditions. The National Weather Service has issued an emergency flash flood warning for the southwest part of the county as well as for northeast Fort Bend County. In Austin, residents are being evacuated because of high water. Emergency personnel have had to use boats and helicopters to get to some people.
Driver killed in fiery crash in Canterbury
A driver has been killed in a fiery crash in Canterbury. State police say nearby residents who heard the crash Monday night went to the scene and tried to pull the driver out of the car. The vehicle then caught fire, making rescue attempts impossible. The male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say speed likely was a factor in the crash. A passenger suffered minor injuries. He was taken to a hospital.
Shooting in Portland
A shooting at a music studio in downtown Portland has left two people seriously hurt. Both victims were reportedly taken to Maine Medical Center, with the suspects seen fleeing up Portland's Market Street.
