Why was Amtrak engineer speeding?
Federal investigators don't know why the engineer of an Amtrak train was traveling at 106 mph before the train ran off the rails in Philadelphia, killing at least seven people and injuring more than 200. Investigators say the engineer could only slow down to 102 mph before taking a sharp curve where the speed limit is just 50 mph. And so far he's refused to talk with investigators.

Jurors head into first full day of penalty phase deliberations
Jurors will resume deliberations today on a sentence for Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Jurors must decide whether Tsarnaev gets the death penalty for the 2013 attack or spends the rest of his life in prison. Execution will require a unanimous decision.

Postal workers head to Manchester
Postal workers will be gathering at the post office in Manchester to protest service cutbacks and call for protecting jobs. Members of the American Postal Workers Union will gather this afternoon as part of a National Day of Action by postal workers and supporters. The union's contract with the U.S. Postal Service is set to expire on May 20th.
