MWC Daily: What’s Your Favorite Children’s Book?

Dr. Suess, H.A. Rey, Shel Silverstein, the list goes on an on. We opened up our Facebook page this morning for listeners to let us know what is/was their favorite children's book. We found out one of the books Roy reads to his son is called "A Book with No Pictures." We also learned there will be a new Dr. Seuss book coming out in the near future.

Curiously enough, at last check, no one on our Facebook page, mentioned Curious George as their favorite children's book. I remember checking these books out at my local library.

Wage gains not making up for stagnation
President Barack Obama's top economists say modest wage gains are far from making up for decades of paycheck stagnation for middle-class workers. In its annual report to Congress, the White House says the U.S. has managed to kick-start a lasting and growing economic recovery. But it warns that slowdowns abroad still pose dangers to the U.S. economy.

Gay to be sentenced today
A New Hampshire man faces sentencing today in the 2012 robbery-killing of another man in Farmington. Christopher Gay was convicted of second-degree murder in the killing of Ryan Stewart. Gay claimed a co-defendant, Corey Bennett, was Stewart's killer. Bennett pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and testified against Gay.

Maine is getting more snow
The latest storm is expected to dump as much as 8 to 10 inches of snow before it ends today. Snowfall is well above average across the region. In Portland, nearly 80 inches of snow had fallen before this latest storm, putting the city more than three feet above normal.
