This is an unbelievable story!
A pregnant woman from Nashua woke up from a coma to find out she had given birth!
Rocio Casalduc.tells WMUR that she's lucky to be alive. According to WMUR, Rocio developed a cough while pregnant. She was tested for Covid-19 and the results were positive. Things deteriorated from there and Rocio was admitted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and had to be intubated.
WMUR reports that when Rocio woke up 3 weeks later from a coma, baby Victoria had been born three months early.
Check out the amazing video from WMUR:
I can't even imagine the fear that Rocio went through with this diagnosis and knowing that it was still early in her pregnancy.
I got a chance to talk to Rocio earlier today as she was on her way to see little Victoria. Rocio told me:
"I am well recovered!!! My daughter Victoria she’s very delicate at the moment but I’m sure she’s a strong baby."
I was curious to see if something like this has happened before, and to my surprise, there have been a number of similar situations.
A woman from Vancouver, WA was also put in a medically induced coma due to Covid-19. Check out her story from The Today Show:
Luckily, she was 36 weeks along and her baby is healthy.
