New England Ski Resorts Are Bracing for a Strong Winter Season
It already looks like a winter wonderland atop Mount Washington, and New Hampshire ski areas have been preparing for this all summer.
An article from the Concord Monitor reports on some busy resorts preparing to make this ski season the best ever.
The newspaper stated that Pats Peak in Hinniker has put up an all-new post-and-beam lodge with bigger bathrooms and ski boot friendly stairs. They have also erected more energy-efficient snowmaking fan guns and towers for their 100 percent snowmaking coverage.
Mount Sunapee Resort is ready with rental equipment for Ski School and upgraded snowmaking, according to the Concord Monitor, and Ragged Mountain Resort in Danbury has upgraded the Elmwood and Meetinghouse Lodges and renovated the New Hampshire Mountain Inn in addition to adding a new Rossignol rental fleet.
The newspaper also reported that Gunstock Mountain Resort has upgraded its snowmaking abilities with some high-tech equipment, and Bretton Woods will be including New Hampshire’s first eight-passenger Gondola that moves at 1,200 feet per minute.
I plan on learning to ski this year, maybe even snowboard. Let’s hit the slopes!
