New Hampshire Beer Drinkers Now Affected By The Government Shutdown
Federal employees furloughed or not being paid aren't the only people being hurt during the partial federal government shutdown. Beer drinkers across the Granite state are feeling the pinch too.
According to WMUR-TV, the shutdown is affecting local breweries in New Hampshire, such as White Birch Brewing in Nashua. While the brewery is still making beer, they can't ship it to customers outside the state because of the shutdown.
The federal Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau approves labels and licenses for any new beer, according to WMUR, but the agency is closed during the shutdown.
The report says approximately six beers produced by White birch Brewing will be affected, but if the shutdown continues, more beers could be affected.
