More Details About Rochester PorchFest

In Rochester, PorchFest gathers about 50 bands, who are not paid, that perform all over the city for the benefit of RPAC Scholarship fund.  That fund is to help kids in the Rochester community connect with their musical talents.

When you purchase a wristband for the event or make a donation, that money goes directly to helping a student in need.  Find more information here.

You will also see local vendors, artists, etc., selling their stuff.  Of course, there will be food trucks and a kid zone to keep the kids happy.

More Details About Portsmouth PorchFest

Portsmouth PorchFest is also a grassroots effort, free to the public, that provides a place for live, local music for all.

Portsmouth is expanding the festival to three zones and will run from 11a - 5pm.  From portsmouthchamber.org:

This free public event is designed to strengthen the Portsmouth community, build connections between neighbors, and provide exposure for local musicians from a diverse array of backgrounds. Attendees can walk tree-lined streets, hear a variety of music styles and sounds from regional artists while mingling with neighbors, and hopefully make some friends along the way.

You can check out all the locations and who is going to be playing here.

If you are a local band, theoretically, you could play both events.  Maybe the people who organize the events did that on purpose?
