10 Small New Hampshire Towns That Look Like They Belong in a Hallmark Movie
It is absolutely no secret how much I love Hallmark movies. I talk about it on the air all of the time.
I don't care if it's Christmas in July, Countdown to Christmas in October or December marathons. I really don't even try to fight it anymore. Once I start watching one, I'm locked in. I don't care that I already know exactly what's going to happen. I will watch every single predictable minute of it.
And since moving to New Hampshire, I've realized something else:
Half the towns here look like they were BUILT for a Hallmark movie.
I know you know exactly what I'm talking about.
So I started wondering: If Hallmark wanted to film a fall movie in New Hampshire, which small towns wouldn't even need a set?
These 10 Small New Hampshire Towns Look Straight Out of a Hallmark Movie

1. Jackson, New Hampshire
Jackson isn't Hallmark-inspired.
Jackson IS Hallmark.
You've got the mountains. The village. The covered bridge. The fall foliage. Throw two attractive single people on opposite sides of that bridge, have them accidentally bump into each other while carrying pumpkin spice lattes, and we're filming.
Movie title: Love Across the Covered Bridge
Plot: She left Jackson for a big marketing career in Boston. He stayed behind to run his family's struggling inn. She's home for one weekend.
You already know she's not going back to Boston.
2. Center Sandwich, New Hampshire
If you're scouting locations for Autumn Love at Maple Farm, I'm saving you some time.
Go to Center Sandwich.
Route 113 brings you past Squam Lake, old farms, stone walls and colorful hills before reaching a town common with a historic Town Hall, white-steepled church and mountains behind it.
Movie title: Falling for Sandwich
Admittedly, Hallmark may want to workshop that title.

3. Walpole, New Hampshire
Historic Main Street. Classic town common. Orchards. Rolling farmland.
All Walpole needs is a woman arriving from New York in heels completely inappropriate for walking on a dirt road.
Movie title: An Orchard Full of Love
Plot: She's a corporate developer sent to buy the family orchard. Unfortunately, the owner's handsome son is REALLY convincing.
Corporate headquarters is not getting that orchard.

4. Stark, New Hampshire
This is ridiculous.
The historic Stark Covered Bridge sits with the river, village and white-steepled Union Church behind it. It's one of those places where you take a picture and people accuse you of using AI.
Movie title: A Stark Reminder of Love
Actually...
No.
Hallmark, you can come up with something better.
5. Dublin, New Hampshire
Dublin doesn't get the attention some of New Hampshire's bigger fall destinations do, which makes it perfect for this list.
There's a preserved historic district surrounded by classic New England fall scenery.
Movie title: Second Chance in Dublin
She's a famous author with writer's block.
He's the local bookstore owner.
There WILL be a misunderstanding with 17 minutes left in the movie.

6. Tamworth, New Hampshire
Farms. Country roads. Mountain views. Chocorua Lake nearby.
We're not even pretending anymore.
Movie title: Love Comes Home*
The family farm is struggling.
She's going to sell it.
He's the rugged neighbor who keeps mysteriously appearing whenever a fence needs fixing.
The farm will not be sold.
7. Freedom, New Hampshire
Even the NAME sounds fictional.
Freedom has historic homes, white churches, forests and peaceful farmland along one of New Hampshire's lesser-known scenic fall drives.
Movie title: Finding Love in Freedom
Come on, Hallmark.
I've basically written this one for you.

8. Sugar Hill, New Hampshire
Sugar Hill has one huge advantage:
The White Mountains are basically the set designer.
Tiny roads, mountain views and New Hampshire scenery that makes you wonder why you're still paying rent anywhere else.
Movie title: Sweet on Sugar Hill
She inherits Grandma's bed-and-breakfast.
She plans to sell it.
Then she meets the local carpenter.
You know the rest.

9. Hancock, New Hampshire
Hancock has the historic village-center look Hallmark would probably spend a fortune trying to recreate on a soundstage.
Except it's real.
Movie title: Home Again in Hancock
She comes home for her high school reunion.
Her high school boyfriend owns the local café.
He's single.
Obviously.
10. Cornish, New Hampshire
Country roads, farms, historic New England scenery and the Cornish-Windsor Covered Bridge nearby, the longest two-span wooden covered bridge in the world.
Movie title: Covered in Love
She is a wedding photographer who has given up on love.
He restores historic covered bridges.
Do not tell me you wouldn't watch this.
Hallmark, Call Me
Here's What I've Learned
Hallmark doesn't need to build a fake New England town for its next fall movie.
Just come to New Hampshire.
We've already got the white churches, covered bridges, town commons, apple orchards, old farmhouses and mountains.

Honestly, sometimes I'm driving through these towns waiting for Lacey Chabert to walk across the road carrying a box of Christmas decorations and realize that I need to help her😊. I'd stop traffic to help her.
