Summer's unofficially here, and traffic tie ups are only going to increase. Adding to this, the New Hampshire DOT has issued temporary closure of one well traveled exit.

According to NHDOT spokesman, Exit 5 on the Spaulding Turnpike will be closed starting Thursday, May 31st. The northbound ramp, which serves a shortcut for many will be reopened on June 7th. First reported by Fosters.com, "Motorists seeking to access the Spaulding Turnpike northbound from Boston Harbor Road, Dover Point Road, and Wentworth Terrace will need to take the Exit 6 southbound on-ramp onto the Spaulding Turnpike southbound, continue south to Exit 4, and reverse direction via Shattuck Way and the Exit 6 northbound on-ramp."

Work continues in anticipation of completion of a $67 million dollar construction project including the Little Bay Bridges. Think of all the times you currently crawl past the unused bridge, wondering when you'll actually be able to take it! We're still a few years from the end, but projects like these get everyone closer to smoothly flowing traffic.
