Old Cruise Ship in Portland, ME Could Be Converted Into A Homeless Shelter
According to WMTW, there is not nearly enough affordable housing options in Portland, ME.
A Portland man named Ken Capron wants to take care of this problem. He plans to buy an old cruise ship and dock it at the Portland Harbor, creating a "floating neighborhood".
Mayor Ethan Strimling can't decide if it the craziest thing he's ever heard or if it's the most brilliant idea ever. He goes on to say:
....what I like about it is that he's coming up with creative ways to figure out how to build housing in the city of Portland,"
Capron will be meeting with a committee to further discuss his idea on 10/2.
