It looks like we're stuck with Routes 93 and 3 as the primary option for now.

When the idea started floating around about a commuter rail extending in to the Nashua and Manchester areas I was pretty excited.  I have family in Boston and up until recently I was working part time in the city for the last few years.  This seemed like a good idea.

However, it appears that such will not be the case.  New Hampshire's House of Representatives voted for an amendment which cuts out that idea from the NH Capitol Corridor Project which included a 10-year Transportation Improvement Plan.

It appears that those opposed felt the the cost behind environmental and engineering arrangements for such a plan was too costly.

So for now, no choo-choo trains running back and forth between Boston and South Central New Hampshire anytime soon.

Kudos to Manchester Ink Link for posting this article revealing how each rep voted.
