Michael Wilson, a gym trainer in Portsmouth, is training to run from Santa Monica, California to Newburyport, according to WMUR.com.

The trainer plans on completing this journey in 80 days by running 40 miles per day, the news station reported.

Wow, I can’t run but I do walk fast.

The Seacoast resident has been personally affected by cancer, according to WMUR, and he wanted to find a way to raise money for cancer charities and raise awareness of the fight.

Running 40 miles a day is going to be tough, especially because Wilson plans on camping along the way, the news station reported.

That’s dedication.  I think my small pack carrying my water bottle is heavy on a hike, I can’t imagine running 40 miles a day with camping gear.

Wilson has been training for this adventure by running 10 miles to and from work each day, according to WMUR.

He will begin his journey on March 28, the news station said, and he hopes to raise $35,000 for cancer charities.

I really hope people across the county read about his story and his mission and give him a helping hand along the way, like a free hotel room and some warm food after a long day of running.  Stay hydrated!  This sounds like the adventure of a lifetime.

I can’t wait to hear about his travels. You can donate here.
