Postal Food Drive Celebrates 25 Years
(Dover, NH) - This Saturday marks the 25th anniversary of the National Association of Letter Carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive.
Every year on the second Saturday in May, letter carriers collect non-perishable item food donations that are left on doorsteps and the items collected stay in that city or town to help re-stock local food pantries.
Last year, letter carriers collected 80-million pounds of food nationally, helping to feed an estimated 64-million people in need.
Over the past 24 years, over 1.5-billion pounds of food has been collected in this drive.
