
Recount Upholds Dover Referendum Vote
(Dover, NH) - A recount of ballots from the November 3rd election has upheld approval of Question 1 on the Dover referendum ballot.
Teams recount the ballots from the Dover Question 1 referendum.
Question 1, which asked if voters wanted to return to a ward-based system of electing Dover School Board members, was approved on election day by a 6-vote margin 1899 to 1893. Former City Councilor Peter Schmidt requested the recount.
City Councilors Catherine Cheney and Deborah Thibodeaux observe the recount of Qiestion 1 ballot. Cheney led the effort to place the question on the November 3rd ballot.
The three-hour recount of just over 38-hundred ballots resulted in a final result of 1914 votes for the change and 1900 votes against.
