A Rochester man was hurt during a crash with a semi truck Wednesday morning on the Sarah Long Bridge in Portsmouth that closed the span for nearly 90 minutes, according to a press release from the New Hampshire State Police.

The collision happened at about 5:50 a.m. on the New Hampshire side of the bridge, police said.

A 2018 Toyota Corolla driven by Dakotah Cappelletty, 24, crossed the centerline and hit the rear axle of a box trailer, according to the release. Stephen Keith, 52, of Lewiston,
Maine, was towing the trailer in a 2020 Freightliner truck.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Authorities said the Corolla was traveling north on the Route 1 Bypass, while the truck was headed south.

Cappelletty suffered “multiple non-life threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for evaluation,” state police said. Photos suggest the Corolla was badly damaged in the crash.

The roadway reopened at about 7:30 a.m.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Trooper Petros Lazos of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A Barracks at 603-223-8490 or Petros.Lazos@dos.nh.gov.
