America’s Most Romantic Town is in Maine, Perfect for Valentine’s Day

You may or may not remember, but HGTV recognized Kennebunkport, Maine, as one of the best Christmas towns in the country last year.

Well, the adorable town has another (perhaps even better) title: 'Most Romantic Town in America'.

I can certainly support this, as my wife and I spent three nights in Kennebunkport, Maine, after our wedding.

But a mini-moon romance is not the peak of this romantic town.

"From February 1 to 29, Kennebunkport will “Paint the Town Red” and host a variety of deals, events, and celebrations that earns this town the tile of “Most Romantic Town” in New England," according to a Boston Uncovered article. "From seaside walks and horse-drawn carriages to ice skating and cross-country skiing, read on to find the best things to do in Kennebunkport this February for the 'Paint the Town Red' season."

So, if you are in New England and have no clue what to do for Valentine's Day, a day trip or an overnighter in Kennebunkport, Maine, is a perfect idea.

According to Boston Uncovered,

Many hotels and inns offer special prices during the month of February in Maine. For luxurious resorts, we recommend Rhumb Line Resort, a family-friendly hotel nestled in the woods near the ocean. Equally as luxurious are the B&Bs of the Kennebunkport Captains Collection, four historic homes that are a block from the beach and an 8-minute walk from Dock Square. For inns, the Breakwater Inn and Seaside Inn will offer deals this month as well.

So, unless the inns are all booked because you planned too late, Kennebunkport would be the perfect Valentine's Day getaway.
