Ever since I was little, I've been obsessed with horses.  Growing up, I lived in a small town in Western Mass and we were lucky enough to have horses.  I started out with a little Shetland Pony named Thunder and then my sister and I moved on to Quarter Horses.

Anytime, i get a chance to see horses or be around them, it makes me happy.  That's what a Saco, Maine man is doing with his horse.  Spreading joy.

Gerry Scott of Saco, Maine has a beautiful Friesian horse named Hercules.   For the second time in a week, Gerry has brought Hercules to Market Square in Portsmouth to put a smile on peoples' faces.

Gerry tells Seacoastonline.com that he's a retired military vet where he was the commander of a United States Army horse unit!  He decided to start bringing Hercules to town because it made so many people happy.  It's gone over so well that one resident even made Hercules a special water bucket for return visits.

This is not the only place Gerry brings his beautiful horse.  Gerry tells Seacoastonline.com that he usually leads the Boston St. Patrick's Day Parade.  He also brings Hercules to spread cheer at nursing homes, schools and even does horse yoga!

So, if you happen to make a trip to downtown Portsmouth during Memorial Day weekend, don't be surprised to see a gorgeous black horse being led around the streets!
