Salute To Seniors: NH Senior Helps Others Fight Addiction
WOKQ is teaming up with American Senior Magazine to salute the seniors in New Hampshire.
Each week, we’ll be highlighting a senior who played a part of making New England such a great place to live. The featured senior will receive a $50 gift card to use at an area mall, and a one year subscription to American Senior magazine! And they'll be invited to a luncheon here at Townsquare Media, honoring all of the seniors we’re saluting.
This week senior is Rene Philpott.
Here's what her friend Tracey has to say about Rene:
I've known Rene for over 10 years now on a personal level and a professional one. Rene is a giving, passionate senior who cares about her community, her friends and family, and her profession. When I first met Rene, she was the marketing director for Homemakers, a non-profit in Rochester, NH, that serves Seacoast residents, offering health care solutions and support.
For many years we heard Rene's soft-spoken, caring voice on the radio until a few years ago, when she faced her own serious health issues, and had to retire. While sick, Rene never lost her sense of humor, her caring persona, or her positivity.
Three years later, Rene is back at it again. She serves as marketing director for SOS, a program that helps people struggling with addiction find recovery through art and music therapy, yoga and more. Whatever she does she gives 110%, she is a compassionate person I am proud to call friend.
