Sears Shutting Two New Hampshire Stores; Massive Liquidation Sales Begin
Sears Holdings has announced it will shutter 46 stores across the nation. The closings include both Sears stores and Kmart stores.
Here in New Hampshire, the Sears stores at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester and the Mall at Rockingham Park in Salem are on the chopping block.
According to CNBC, the stores are expected to close by November 30.
According to the report, liquidation sales at all 46 stores are expected to start as soon as next week.
Sears Holdings also said that eligible employees will receive severance packages and will be allowed to apply for openings at other store locations.
A total of 5 stores across New England are on the latest list of locations that will close for good. Aside from the two stores in New Hampshire, there are two set to close in Massachusetts (Taunton and Holyoke), and one in Milford, Connecticut. (get the complete list of store closures here).
