My wife’s dad told her to always keep water and a jar of peanut butter in the car in case she ever drove into a ravine and no one could find her for days.  Maybe this advice was a little scary for her when she was 10 years old because she hates driving.  On the flip side, I love driving and will use any excuse for a long car trip.  I am also very safety conscious, although my wife says that I am not and I just use that as an excuse to buy stuff for my car.  But there are some critically important must haves for your vehicle, especially as winter approaches
