The city of Lewiston, Maine, was forever changed by a horrific mass shooting on October 25, 2023, that claimed the lives of 18 people and wounded 13 others. We remember the victims.

It’s been a year since the city of Lewiston, Maine, endured an unthinkable attack on October 25, 2023. We lost 18 loved ones on that horrific night. We will never forget.

President Joe Biden traveled to Lewiston to visit with the families of the 18 victims of the October 25 shooting and thank first responders.

"The President and First Lady will pay respects to the victims of this horrific attack and grieve with families and community members, as well as meet with first responders, nurses, and others on the front lines of the response," reads a statement from the White House.

Many of the families of the victims of the shootings at Just-in-Time Recreation and Schemengees Bar & Grille in Lewiston on Oct. 25 have announced their funeral arrangements.

Governor Janet Mills announced programs for those affected by the Lewiston shootings during a contentious press briefing.

Lewiston police said the shots were fired around 9:45 p.m. near a multi-unit building on Walnut Street.

Leaders from several faiths addressed the crowd inside and outside the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul during Sunday night's One Lewiston Community Vigil. Pictures of each victim were placed at the front of the church.

Dozens gathered at Kennedy Park in Lewiston and Lisbon Falls Park in neighboring Lisbon as the two communities begin to recover from the siege of terror and staying in their homes after the shootings.

There is no evidence yet that the shooting was premeditated, nor does anything specifically indicate why Robert Card went to the Just-in-Time Recreation and Schemengees Bar & Grille Wednesday night.

Maine Public Safety Commissioner Michael Sauschuck said at around 7:45 p.m., the body of Robert Card was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head near the Maine Recycling Center where he used to work.

Investigators continued their search for around the boat dock in Lisbon where Card's Subaru Outback was found abandoned Wednesday night.

The search on Friday is focused on the area near the Androscoggin River where Robert Card's Subaru Outback was found, but its not the only place investigation teams would be.
