23 New Hampshire Athletes Are Competing on the Biggest Special Olympics Stage in the Country
Team New Hampshire is competing this week at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, the biggest Special Olympics event in the country, held every four years.
Think of it like the national championship of Special Olympics. Athletes from all 50 states made the trip to Minneapolis, and New Hampshire sent a team that's competing across eight different sports. That's not a small thing for a small state.
There are some pretty amazing people from the Granite State in Minneapolis right now, and they deserve a shoutout.
- On the track, Jimmy Johnson, Thomas Cantara, Alicia Chapman, and Sarah Peters are running for the Granite State.
- In the pool, it's Emma Davis, Rose Kerrigan, Ryann Burns, and Peyton Jones swimming away.
- On the bowling lanes, Darren Brown, Nick Paquin, Aamanda King, and Bryanna Allison are knocking down pins.
- Bocce players Nate Webb, David Sylvester, Rachel Maxim, and Tina Tellor.
- Powerlifters Sharon Palermo, Jacob Constas, and Brett Clough are strong.
- On the fairway are golfers Jeremy Howry and Amanda Coviello.
- On the tennis courts, players Andres Tourgee and Lili Leonard-Heath round out the squad.
These are your neighbors. People who trained all year, qualified for a national competition, and are now out there wearing New Hampshire on their backs in front of thousands of people. That's worth knowing about.

The games wrap up June 26, 2026.
