Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire Floating Restaurant Could Be Yours

It wasn't that long ago when we got the news that The Dive, a floating restaurant in Smalls Cove, West Alton, on Lake Winnipesaukee here in New Hampshire, had a devastating fire that completely tore through the ship. Now, the owners of the Dive have made the difficult decision not to rebuild.

The Dive Restaurant in the Lakes Region of NH Could Come Back?

They DO still have the commercial barge, hull and 2 engines that may give someone an opportunity to create something similiar to the Dive.  The owners are even open to naming the new place, "The Dive" and keep the social media going, etc.

WMUR's Chronicle did a show about the Dive when it was in it's heyday.  The scene that you see in that story was very typical for a day on The Dive.  People having fun, enjoying being on the water, eating and drinking some yummy offerings on the menu. Lots of memories were made on The Dive.

When they made the announcement that they were not going to rebuild and instead offer an opportunity to someone else, one of the comments on the Facebook page said to bring back PORKY'S!

If you aren't familiar with the film, it's about a restaurant that had all kinds of debachery going on.

Another commented that the Dive is a legend on the lake and now something will be missing.  Many are hoping to see the same type of place open.

It's sad to see a place close that you have such great memories of.  Hopefully, The Dive will be on the water once again, but one can only hope.
