The First Beach Day of the Year at Hampton Beach

With the mercury pushing toward 90 today, it seemed like the perfect day to get to the beach. So I jumped in the car and made the short drive from Dover to Hampton Beach. And from the looks of things today...everyone else had the same idea.

After talking to a few of the kids, I learned today was Senior Skip Day. The merchants seemed grateful for the sun and the kids. A lot of the shops are still closed, but some are open and ready for the summer.

Blinks Fry Doe had a line...and a lot of smiling faces.

And although the water was chilly....it didn't seem to matter. Everyone looked to be having fun...including the gulls.

With temperatures climbing over the next couple of days, you can expect bigger crowds. So it might be worth burning a sick day to get a beach day before all of those tourist show up.
