Time to breathe a sigh of relief because according to a recent study from safehome.org, New Hampshire is the safest state in America!

Yep, we're No. 1.

Included in the top 5 are also Massachusetts, Vermont, and Rhode Island, so it’s a good day to be a New Englander.

According to Whdh.com and a study from safehome.org, they looked at statistics from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program to come up with their safe state rankings.

The ranking includes categories such as property crime, burglary and larceny, and violent crime. Rounding out the top 5 are the states of Maryland and New Jersey.

The population of each state was also a factor in the study.

You might want to rethink that vacation to New Mexico.

According to the study, it won title of the most dangerous state in America.

Also listed in the worst states for crime were Louisiana, Mississippi, Arkansas and Alabama. The Southern states did not do well either.

Well looks like we are doing well in the New England area: Best NFL team. Best MLB team. Soon to be the best NHL team. Oh, and the safest states in all of America.
