These Regular New Hampshire People Are Celebrity Doppelgängers
Did you know it was recently National Look-Alike Day? I love me a made-up holiday, and this one is always a doozy. It's an excuse for people to post photos side-by-side with their celebrity doppelgänger, with a caption like:
People always tell me I look like Michelle Pfeiffer but I don't see it! Do you?
Is it self-indulgent? Sure! But is it hurting anyone? Not at all. So why the heck not!
Where did Look-Alike Day come from?
According to NationalToday.com, this day was created by a feature television reporter named Jack Etzel in the 1980s. He was in downtown Pittsburgh with photographer Rick Minutello, desperately looking for a light feature for the news. Rick said, “This guy coming toward us looks like Humphrey Bogart.” He had the cigarette, the hat, the whole nine yards! Jack said, “Let’s talk to him. I’ll ask him who people think he looks like.” And the rest is history!
We have a doppelgänger here on WOKQ. My co-host Logan looks just like the country superstar Thomas Rhett! Well, until he decided to cut his hair before consulting with the team. THE NERVE!
And then there's me, Kira. I've been told once or twice that I resemble Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland, which is a massive compliment. But if we're being honest with each other, I more often get that I look like Jennifer Coolidge, the hilarious actress who plays Stiffler's mom in the American Pie movies. I'll take it!
Here are a few more New Hampshire-based celebrity doppelgängers. WOKQ's very own Sales Guy Shawn has been told if he had a little more hair and dropped some poundage, he would look like Jesse Plemons (his words, not mine!).
People tell Mama Lew that she looks like actress Amy Sedaris:
Dave Brosseau has been getting Brantley Gilbert for years. I can see it!
Nikki Fanjoy Wright said people are always telling her daughter she looks like Lindsay Lohan from The Parent Trap (but with even better hair)!
Becky Gardner said that "I always get Lori Grenier from Shark Tank."
Gary Zirpolo said that he used to look like Christopher Mintz (aka McLovin) in high school. This is iconic:
People tell local country artist April Cushman that she looks like Hilary Duff!
