This Was New Hampshire’s Favorite Super Bowl Commercial
Wow! What an exciting Super Bowl. Even though the New England Patriots fell short of their sixth championship, but it was a nail-biter right down to the last few seconds. The only down-side to a really great game is less time to enjoy the commercials because everyone is talking about the game.
However, it was kind of hard to miss the commercials this year. Tide was everywhere...probably to combat the stupidity of the Tide Pod Challenge. Because if you noticed...there wasn't a single one featuring the notorious pods. Instead, Tide featured a series of commercials starring David Harbour. He's the guy who plays the cop Jim Hopper on Stranger Things. And by the way...he's a 1997 graduate of Dartmouth College, in Hanover, NH.
The first commercial started out as a car ad, then a beer ad, then a perfume ad...and they just kept going. It became a series of short, funny, mini-parodies of other kinds of commercials. But since everyone's clothes were spotless, the catchphrase was "It's a Tide ad."
One of my favorites was the Amazon Alexa ad where Alexa lost her voice. So they had a bunch of celebrities fill in, like Gordon Ramsay, Cardi B, Rebel Wilson, and
Anthony Hopkins. But it didn't go as planned. The scene where Rebel Wilson tried to 'set the mood' for a guy's party by talking dirty was absolutely hilarious...and my favorite. It's hard for a commercial to make me laugh out loud...but this one did it.
However, my absolute favorite had to be the M & Ms commercial. If you missed it, and M&M wished to turn into a person...and he did. The person just happened to be a guy played by Danny DeVito. Type casting? Perhaps. But Danny was an awesome red M&M.
However, it seems like NONE of these was New Hampshire's favorite Super Bowl commercial. When we asked around, most people said they loved NFL promo starring Eli Manning and Odell Beckham, Jr.
