I'm only five days into this diet and I feel like I'm about to float away with all the water I'm drinking! The good news is I'm already down two pounds. It doesn't seem like a lot to me, but people who know more than I do about this stuff, say that's good. They're either being supportive while laughing behind my back...or I'm really doing well.

To be honest with you...I haven't changed much. I am really watching how much sugar I consume. You might be surprised to find out all of the places they hide it in our food.
And I took the advice of the many people who suggested I start each day drinking a 12 ounce glass of water with two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar. I'm not sure how it works...but I do feel better after I drink it. Weird.

Anyway, if you're dieting you can't just live on water. So when I ran across this article in the NY Post about the best food to eat for breakfast, I wanted to share it with you. If you're trying to lose weight, they say eating these three foods will help. One of them is really going to surprise you.

Eggs. Two eggs have about 12 grams of protein. That's important because it helps control your insulin levels. When your insulin spikes, your body starts storing calories as fat. And eggs have more than 20 key nutrients.

Greek yogurt. It's high-protein and low-calories. But make sure it doesn’t have any added sugar. Flavored yogurt might taste better, but only because there's a ton of sugar in there. And flavored yogurt doesn't have as much protein.

And here's the one that's probably going to surprise you...Baked beans. Yeah, it threw me for a loop too. The article says people in England have them for breakfast more than we do. But they're good because they give you an almost-perfect mix of carbs and protein. They say they're great with toast, or even just on their own. I prefer them with a burger at summer BBQ...but that's a blog for another time.

Thanks for all the support as I continue doing my best to drop 15 pounds by June. As promised, I'll keep you up to date with my progress. And if I come across a killer recipe, I'll be sure to share it with you.
