There's so much bad news, so when something heartwarming happens, it's nice to share it with the public.  That's what the Massachusetts State Police did on their Instagram this week.

A truck driver had called about an injured hawk on the side of the highway near Northampton, Massachusetts.  The man stayed with the bird until a state trooper could get to the scene.  There was a nice exchange between the two men, but also a common concern for the bird, which was still alive.

The bird was not a fan of humans, so as the trooper tried to cover and carry it to safety, it was trying to protect itself by pecking at the trooper.

In the end, the trooper transferred the hawk to a licensed falconer in Worthington, but the exchange and video is worth watching, especially if you need to see something positive today.

The Good Samaritan was the difference-maker by calling in the wildlife issue, and saying, "I could not just leave it here", after he saw the hawk struggling on the side of the road.

The Facebook comments were mostly grateful and positive, although you always have a handful of haters.

Thank you to the kind gentleman who called this in, and to the kind trooper who answered the call.   `
