Weeks ago, a new park in Massachusetts went viral. This was not your average park grand opening.

200 Trapelo Rd, Park in Waltham, Massachusetts, is enormous. The park has something for every age kid to enjoy at any temperature this summer. For the summer heat, there is a splash pad. For the little ones, the park has slides and swings, with a decent amount of shading. For older kids, there is an epic free 18-hole mini golf course.

You get it - this park rocks. And it should, as it cost the city 9.5 million, according to a WCAC article.

Because the new multi-million dollar park is so popular, weeks ago, restrictions were placed on who could go/when. 100 parking spots may seem like a lot for a park, but because of the hype, the number of parking spaces was not enough.

The original "restrictions" were simple - you had to pre-register to get a parking spot, and you could only stay for 2 hours max.

The park went viral for being so big, inclusive, expensive, and fun. And that led to MORE people wanting to go.

According to a CBS News article, even MORE restrictions are being added to the new, multi-million dollar park. The Waltham city website now indicates that the park will only welcome Waltham residents on weekends and holidays. City residents still have to reserve a two-hour window in advance on the website (which seems crazy to pre-book a day at the playground).

So if you do not live in Waltham, you cannot go to the park on Saturday or Sunday. The good news is, they took away parking reservations on the weekdays.

It was the towns taxpayers' money...shouldn't they get priority?
