Party like it's 1969 Sunday in Wiscasset, Maine.

This Sunday, the Maine Vintage Race Car Association hosts their annual Summerfest. Vintage race cars from all over the northeast will roll out for display, racing, and even fan rides. This year, the event has a new home in Richard and Vanessa Jordan's Wiscasset Speedway. Maine fastest oval, where a number of the vintage cars ran in their day, takes over after years at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway. A move which had been in place for a while. Bruce Elder, of the Association told Townsquare Media "Beech Ridge set the bar high for Summerfest. We're a statewide organization, and the plan has always been to take our marquee event around the state to different tracks, and we're excited to showcase the history of Maine racing on the Mid Coast."

This year's added bonus is the first ever BBQ Challenge. You feast as pit masters from all over the state compete, with all proceeds to benefit the MVCRA. (Maine Vintage Race Car Association)

Gates open at 10 for this family friendly event, with the annual cookout (separate from the BBQ Challenge) at 11:30. Special awards and meet the Hall of Famers at 1, followed by on track action. Wiscasset Speedway is at 27 Alna Road (5 minutes from Rt 1) in Wiscasset, Maine.

Adult members are $5, non members $7, kids 7-12 $3, and 6 and under are free. If you join or renew with the MVCRA Sunday, you'll also be able to grab something from the Vintage Vault"
