Which New England State Aims to Break Guinness Book Tree Hugging Record?
You're thinking it will be somewhere in Vermont, right? It's gotta be Vermont. No, not Vermont. Seriously, not Vermont?
Nope, it is Rhode Island. The Rhode Island Tree Council is looking to get over a thousand people to simultaneously hug trees at Roger Williams Park in Providence. In celebration of Earth Day and Arbor Day, Tree Hugapolooza (can we please move on from anything 'palooza already!?) seeks to break the current tree hugging world record of 936 simultaneous huggers.
Where was that held? Portland, Oregon. Obviously. If being part of a Guinness World Record breaking event and/or snuggling foliage is your bag, be sure to make your to Roger Williams Park, Providence, RI by 3:00pm. Register in advance at RITree.org.
