Wheaties Beer Announced, Obligatory ‘Breakfast of Champions’ Jokes Ensue

Let's face it, The Breakfast of Champions joke is the only reason this beer exists.

Combine Wheaties and the wheat-based Hefeweizen style beer and you got yourself HefeWheaties. It sounds like an April Fool's Day joke dropped in mid-August but this is for real.  According to General Mills, they've partnered with Minneapolis based craft brewer Fulton to create the limited-edition Hefeweizen beer.

Sadly, there are no plans to feature noted alcoholics on the cans-- but if they we're smart, you could custom order a face to place on there for bachelor party gifts.

The beer is going to be available beginning August 26th but sadly, only in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and won't be shipped outside of Minnesota. The likelihood of scoring one of these tall-boys is about the same as you being featured on the iconic cereal box.

That said, take solace in knowing you will be able to sample all kinds of great hard to find craft brews at America On Tap in Manchester this coming October!
