(Boston, Mass.) - Low gasoline prices are expected to prompt more Americans to hit the road this summer.

According to the 2017 Summer Travel Study by Gasbuddy, the current average price for a gallon of regular is the same this week as it was at the start of the year, and that will lead to more road trips.

The survey shows that 56 percent of us will travel at least 500 miles round-trip this summer, an increase of 9 percent over last year.

And 75 percent of us plan to take road trips on non-holiday weekends.
