World-Renowned, Award-Winning Chef Takes Over the Kitchen of This Culinary Legacy in Maine

Does the Rainbow Room sound familiar to you?  It's that iconic, award-winning restaurant that sits on the 65th Floor of 30 Rockefeller Center in midtown Manhattan, New York.

It's been designated a landmark because of its history, having opened in 1934. Now, its executive chef has decided to bring his talents to the legendary White Barn Inn in Kennebunk, Maine, right here in the Seacoast.

Welcome, Executive Chef Mathew Woolf. I can only imagine what he has in store as he enters his first fall and winter with the restaurants.

According to hostpitalitynet.org, Chef Woolf brings us two decades of culinary and restaurant experience, and will use that extensive, award-winning experience and passion to oversee all of the culinary operations and programming at the White Barn Inn. That includes the property's signature restaurants: White Barn Inn Restaurant and Little Barn.

Woolf brings his passion for fine dining and seasonal cooking to the resort, working with local purveyors to create exquisite dishes that redefine New England cuisine and take locally sourced ingredients to new heights.

Hailing from London, England, according to hospitalitynet.org, Woolf's pursuit of the exclusive and high-end culinary world took him to various restaurants, where he worked his way up in kitchens in Chicago, Los Angeles, and eventually New York.  He even worked as an executive chef for Gordon Ramsay.

Hospitalitynet.org says that Chef Woolf, educated at the College of Catering in Chelmsford, Essex, England, is preserving dishes that White Barn is known for, like the beloved Butter Poached Kennebunkport Lobster and Beef Tenderloin with Foie Gras Crust. Simultaneously, he's introducing and creating his innovations onto the menu.
