York County Maine is Seeing Spike in COVID Cases, Ogunquit Not Taking Any Chances
There is a spike in COVID cases in York County
Maine happens to be home to one of my favorite cities in New England which is Ogunquit. In addition to seeing the case rate go up, how do you find out there is a lot of asymptomatic cases in your area? Well, there is a genius idea that you can test a town's wastewater to find out. This is exactly what Ogunquit did according to fox23maine.com.
What Effect Will the Rise in Case Count Mean?
Many businesses in the town of Ogunquit, Maine are not taking any chances. Several businesses are posting signs requesting their unvaccinated customers to wear masks. Many residents are wearing masks regardless of their vaccination status. Some have underlying health conditions that make them feel more comfortable. The Delta variant has people on high alert. As always, get your information from reliable sources such as the CDC, your local health department, or your physician.
Should you or Shouldn’t You Wear a Mask
Well, that depends. According to fox23maine.com, Dr. Dora Anne Mills of MaineHealth “the major message is if you haven’t been vaccinated, please get it now.” She also says “If you’re fully vaccinated, the vaccine is a fire suit. But as Dr. Fauci says, “It doesn’t mean you run into a fire.” My wife and I are fully vaccinated but she still wears a mask because she is immunosuppressed and I have a grandson that can’t get the vaccine yet. I don’t know about you but I am really tired of this virus, but I know the virus isn’t tired of us yet so I am being careful.
