If you're anything like me, you've been wondering just how much of a "normal" summer we'll have in Maine. COVID-19 has been quite unforgiving thus far.

We have yet to see a Portland Sea Dogs game. Funtown and Splashtown decided to not open this year. Many fairs have been canceled. But finally, a Maine tradition is gearing up to reopen.

York's Wild Kingdom announced on their Facebook page that they will be reopening on June 20th.

It won't be business as usual, however. York's Wild Kingdom is a unique combination of an amusement park and zoo and part of their announcement is that the amusement park will remain closed this year in an effort to keep employees and guests safe.

The park stated that they will be keeping an eye on the ever-developing policies coming from the state. For the most up to date information follow them on Facebook.

So, if you want to get out of the house and check out some really cool animals like a red kangaroo, ostrich, or a Bengal Tiger (just don't tell Carole Baskin), mark your calendar starting on June 20th for some wild Southern Maine fun for the family.
