This is so infuriating.  I'll try not to use any "bad" words in this article, but there's no guarantee.

According to a report from WMUR, Wednesday afternoon on Route 102 in Londonderry, a 22-year-old man was taken to the hospital where he is being treated for serious, but non-life-threatening injuries after his car was hit by ice that had flown off of a box truck.

One of his eyes was severely injured by ice and broken glass from his windshield, the news station reported.

It shouldn't be that much of a big deal to clean off the top of your car, OR TRUCK!  Don't people realize that people can and HAVE DIED from ice flying off of a vehicle in front of them?

This 22-year-old was very lucky, but I'm sure he and his family are going through a rough time right now and may not see it that way just yet.

Jessica's Law was passed in 2002, according to another report from WMUR.  Jessica Smith, 20, was killed when ice and snow from a tractor-trailer hit a box truck and ended up hitting her car. She did not survive.

Jessica's mother, Linda, was quoted in the story:

It takes not even five minutes to clean off your car....It can take three seconds to kill somebody.

I think that stories like this hit me a little more because I have two boys that are on the roads all the time.  I call them boys even though they are old enough to be considered adults, they are MY babies.  One of them drives like a Grandmother.  Seriously, he never goes above the speed limit, but in circumstances like this, it wouldn't matter what he was doing if the ice was flying at his head, would it?!

CLEAN OFF YOUR CAR/TRUCKS/TRACTOR-TRAILER, ETC.
