Police said in the Facebook post that people living near the Mason/Greenville Road area should watch out due to the multiple sightings of the bear.
They said that the "most recent sighting was [Sunday, August 10] around 5:30 PM while people were outside grilling."
Must have smelled some delicious food, right?
Police noted that people should make sure to take down bird feeders, secure and store their trash, and make sure to close all doors. You don't need any new house guests looking for marmalade sandwiches.
NBC10 Boston even shared a stunning video of the huge bear that looks even bigger than the photo the police posted.
Largest Black Bear in Massachusetts
According to Cambridge Day, male black bears can get up to 600 pounds, and the largest ever taken in Massachusetts was "estimated to have weighed about 700 pounds."
The newspaper article notes that no one has been killed by a black bear in Massachusetts, but they are still deadly. Cambridge Day reported that "there is about one death per year in the United States attributed to a black bear."
It's certainly not the first big bear in Massachusetts and won't be the last.
Stay vigilant out there, and if you see that bear, don't try and have lunch with it!
