A New England Bowler Rolls His Way Into History
I've never been much of a bowler. The extent of my experience is taking my kids bowling on winter days when it was too cold to be outside, and there was no way I could watch another kids movie.
Friends tell me I'd enjoy it more if I could break 190. However, I do enjoy the movie The Big Lebowski, perhaps the greatest Jeff bridges movie ever...and all about bowling...
well, sort of!
Anyway, I digress. There's a guy named Jon Wilbur, from Rutland, VT, who made bowling history earlier this week. WCVB Channel 5 in Boston, claims Jon bowled a 900 series during a league game at Bowlarama.
A perfect score in bowling is 300. So that means Jon bowled three 300 games back-to-back! The United States Bowling Congress told Channel 5, once it's approved, Jon's 900 would be only the 35th in history.
After 20 years of bowling, Jon says he's still finds it hard to believe.
