Animals Rescued In Suspected Derry Cruelty Case
(Derry, NH) - The New Hampshire SPCA and Derry Police rescued a number of animals after a complaint of animal cruelty. The animals were living in deplorable conditions with animal waste covering floors, in filth filled cages and manure filled stalls.
One horse, 3 dogs, 3 pigeons, 2 cockatiels, 6 cats, a guinea pig, an iguana and 17 chickens were removed from the premises last Friday. The horse appeared to be suffering from malnutrition and was severely underweight.
Cats and other animals may be suffering from a range of illnesses and are being assessed by veterinarians.
The NH SPCA is asking for the public's help in caring for the newly rescued animals.
Tax deductible contributions can be made to the SOS FUND.
