The new year isn't starting so great if you drive a Ford. WMUR-TV is reporting that Ford is recalling over 953,000 vehicles worldwide to replace Takata passenger side airbag inflators that could explode and spray shrapnel.

WMUR says the recall is the largest recall in the nation's history. It includes 782,000 automobiles here in the United States. At least 23 people have been killed by the faulty airbag inflators. According to this report, Ford says they don't know of any injuries in vehicles included in this particular recall. However, they say Ford dealers will replace the inflators to be safe.

Vehicles in the recall are:

2010 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX
2010 and 2011 Ford Ranger
2010 to 2012 Ford Fusion
Lincoln MKZ
2010 and 2011 Mercury Milan
