Portsmouth is gearing up for a dose of The Truth on June 18th.

10-time All-Star and MVP of the 2008 NBA Finals, Paul Pierce will be in Portsmouth this June as the featured guest speaker at the third annual Seacoast All-Star Sports Awards, according to Fosters Daily Democrat. Last year, Red Sox Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez served in the role.

Howard Altschiller, Seacoast Media Group executive editor told Fosters “We’re thrilled to host Boston Celtics All-Star Paul Pierce as the keynote speaker and to help honor the Seacoast sports All-Stars. He’s not just a Celtics great, but also a great person with an inspiring story to tell.”

Youth sports has always been close to Pierce's heart. In 2002, he started his own foundation, the Truth Fund, which helped provide education and athletic opportunities for disadvantaged youths in the greater Boston area. Paul's #34 was retired in a ceremony last year.

The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at The Music Hall, 28 Chestnut Street in downtown Portsmouth. Ticket information is still to be released.
