Boston, Massachusetts Restaurant Named a Top ‘Bucket List’ Spot in U.S.

Boston, Massachusetts has hundreds of restaurants that are world-class, but not many that started as a food truck.

There is one special eatery that has received recognition for being the not-to-be-missed 'Bucket List' Restaurant of the best in the U.S. for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The national site, lovefood.com, has recognized Mei Mei, a Chinese dumpling factory, cafe and classroom.

Owner Irene Li, who won a James Beard Award in 2022, continues to serve up creative – and delicious – dumplings with fillings such as the signature lemongrass and pasture-raised pork. The spot also hosts classes and offers a takeout service.

Not only can you get amazing dumplings at Mei Mei, they have classes that will show you how to make them yourself by taking a class either in person or online.  They perfected those classes on Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The dumplings that you get at Mei Mei come from a long family tradition that started in the late 1940's when the owners Grandparents opened up a Chinese restaurant in White Plains, New York after fleeing from China, according to their website.  They credit their families for the success of the restaurant.

They have limited hours, from Wednesday - Sunday, 12noon to 6pm and are located at 58 Old Colony Avenue, Boston, Mass.
