In addition to the rides and fair food, one of the biggest draws at Maine's fair is the entertainment.

Most fairs feature a major show each night.  These will often include demolition derbies, truck pulls, monster truck shows, ATV stunt shows, and concerts.

The Fryeburg Fair, Maine's Blue Ribbon Classic, is no exception to this rule.

In previous years, the fair has welcomed performances from Charlie Daniels, Clint Black, Joe Diffie, The Marshall Tucker Band, Lady A, Niko Moon, and local favorites 12/OC.

The entertainment schedule for this year's fair has just been released.  The highlight will be a performance by country star Josh Turner on Tuesday, October 1st, 2024.  He'll be performing on the main stage starting at 8 PM.

The deep-voiced country star is originally from Hannah, South Carolina.  He first started singing when he was in church.  In fact, as a teen, he formed a gospel group called Thankful Hearts.

Since releasing his first songs in the early 2000s, Turner has had a string of hits.  These include the Hank Williams-inspired "Long Black Train", "Your Man", and "Would You Go With Me".

Over the years, Turner has been nominated for several ACM awards, CMA awards, and Grammy awards.

Josh Turner's performance is definitely going to be one of the highlights of this year's Fryeburg Fair.

This year's fair runs from September 29th through October 6th.  Get more details about the show from the Fryeburg Fair website.

Other highlights from this year's entertainment schedule include a Garth Brooks tribute band, the Mallett Brothers Band, a Motown tribute, and the Bad Habit Band.
