Barstool’s Dave Portnoy Hits Up These 5 Massachusetts Pizza Spots to Review in July 2026

Barstool's Dave Portnoy has racked up thousands of pizza reviews across the country over the years, and he's added five more Massachusetts spots to his ever-growing list for July 2026.

In fact, for the year so far, he has hit up 15 Bay State pizza places, and there are still five months left before 2027.

As for the latest batch of reviewed Massachusetts spots? None of them scored lower than a 7.4.

Dave Portnoy Reviews Massachusetts Pizza July 2026

Massachusetts stands as one of the states where Portnoy has done the most pizza reviews, the top being New York, so it's no surprise to see he's back at it in his hometown state doing even more.

He's already reviewed seven Massachusetts places in January, including one with Anne Michael Maye, New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye's wife, and another three in June.

July bumped up the number even more (and he's already done one in August), with the following spots: Sugar's Hot Pizza, Cibo Matto Cafe, Towne Tavern, Rehoboth Baking Co. and Pizza Project.

Within this latest round-up of reviews, it looks like July had its highest Massachusetts score of the year from Pizza Project with an 8.2 out of 10.

Pizza Project Is Dave Portnoy's Highest-Rated Massachusetts Pizza Place in 2026

Interestingly, this Brighton-based spot has only been around for a handful of years, first as a mobile pop-up in 2021 and then a full-on storefront in 2023, according to Boston Magazine.

The pizza place has several highly-rated comments on Yelp, including:

"After eating here while on Vacation, I now don't even enjoy any pizza back home.... "

"It is a small restaurant with 5-6 pizza options and has parking on the back with collective set of restaurants. The service is great. Very friendly people :) The pizza is great and really loved their dough. It is so perfect, crusty, chewy and thin."

"This is the spot. You haveeee to get the pepperoni & hot honey pizza. It's so so good."
