The Framingham-Mass based company announced that there will be dozens of store closings, due to hundreds of millions of dollars in losses. Ouch.This week, Staples, the office-supply store announced they will be shuttering dozens of stores, according to WCVB-Boston. Of the 1,600 remaining Staples stores, soon 70 will be locking their doors for good. This, after the company closed 48 stores in 2016.  In the past five years, some 350 Staples have said goodbye to their customers.

Scores of store closings have been announced recently including: JC Penney, Macy's, Sears, K-Mart, Abercrombie and Fitch and The Limited. In related news, RadioShack filed for bankruptcy for the second time in two years, announcing it would close 200 of its 1,500 remaining stores.
